Doug’s brings Eastern North Carolina barbecue (the tangy, vinegar-based kind) to Atlanta. Doug learned to smoke whole hogs growing up in Greenville, NC, working alongside his grandfather Alfonza Weaver, whose pulled pork was known throughout the area as the best around. He later made whole smoked turkey his signature while chasing a lighter take on classic pork BBQ, launched a food truck in Fayetteville in 2017, and in 2023 teamed up with his cousin, longtime Atlantan Dr. William Hill, to bring the family recipe south.
