At La Tropical, Chef Minelly Amador cooks the food she grew up on: pressed Cuban sandwiches, crispy bacalaitos, mofongo, carne frita, arroz con pollo, and slow-braised ropa vieja, all made with homegrown recipes and real hospitality. Sharing the counter is MiMi Taqueria, a female chef-driven kitchen turning out modern Mexican street food, with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and comfort plates built on house-made sauces.
